A catalogue of Brazilian music for outsiders, and for insiders too.
What it is
Brazilian Music is a bilingual catalogue of Brazil's music for newcomers and for Brazilians alike. Instead of opinion, cards: every genre, artist, song, album and instrument gets a short, objective, findable entry.
How it was made
The content starts from lists organized over the years (bands by decade and by subgenre, divas, girl groups, women in rap, musicians, producers, albums, songs by year, The Voice Brasil, blogs) and was completed with cards on genres, instruments, awards, festivals and a glossary written for this site. Tiers S, A and B mark each artist's relative importance within their field.
Limits
A catalogue is a selection. Rock is covered in depth (songs year by year, albums, regional scenes); the other families have more compact cards and will grow. Follower and sales figures change; where they appear, they date from the time of collection.
